A Few Around The Middle . . .

I don't know how it happened - I really don't. I run around all day after 3 children, 6, 4 and 1, so I know I get my exercise. I try not to eat too much junk food. I try to take care of myself. So tell me, how in the world did I gain 8 pounds over the winter?!?
I was in shock when I stepped on the scale last week and couldn't believe my eyes - 8 pounds! Okay, maybe I do have some bad habits. I do tend to clean off the girls plates after breakfast and dinner (I hate to waste food!). I pick on food through out the day since I never seem to have any time to sit down and enjoy a meal.
My favorite drink lately is soda and I guess I have been doing a lot of baking lately - sure the kids love homemade treats, but so do I. Good grief! What have I done to myself! So then I made my plan. First, no more soda, only water. Next, no more grazing - I had to sit and eat 3 meals a day, not eat throughout the day. Next, I am giving the kids smaller portions or just wrapping their leftovers for another day.
Finally, I have started myself on an exercise routine - nothing too crazy, I do not love to exercise. Since the weather is getting nicer, I am taking the girls out to ride their bikes or go for walks more often. I have a work-out tape that I enjoy - it feels more like I am dancing than working out!
Only time will tell if I can lose these extra pounds that have crept up on me - I hope so! Maybe if I start eating more fruits and vegetables . . .
