Low maintenance and great for certain plants
It looks far better than the ones that your plant came in, and it can make your liife far easier. The trick is, especially if you are starting off with a cutting or initial seeded plant that you started, getting the roots to go all the way to the bottom of the planter. AIf you normally do a deep watering however, then this is not an issue as that encourages the roots to go to the bottom of the planter.
Watering from the bottom up is also better for the plant as the plant drinks what it needs and you just maintain the water level, rather than hoping an inch of dry topsoil is not the measure of your soil overall.
In addition, the multiple colors of this type of planter means that you can use them for pops of color where needed.
