The texture and the decorative button bring something a little extra to the couch. The pillow, itself, is not at all firm. It doesn't hold its shape at all, even when just resting on the sofa. A matter of preference, but if you want a firm pillow, you have to change the insert. I do like the way that it coordinates with other pillows.

Had to take them back, they are pretty that's why I bought them, but I guess if you are not using them and they are just for looks, it's ok. But we actual were using them on the sofa, and feathers on the sofa, floor, our clothes and the pillows. Sad, they were pretty and comfy.
