When I opened packaging i noticed wood was splitting. I used it anyway and it fell apart. Fell off the wall and everything on it broke.

I struggle to know if I can write a review that accurately describes how poorly these were made. The only reason they ended up installed at my house is I was scared of my 8 month pregnant wife and her desire to have the baby's room ready.\n\nLets start off with the metal hanger on the back. They are not evenly spaced from each of the edges, so when you measure to one and go to hang it up, it wont work. Speaking of which the design of the hanger requires the screw to be so precisely placed, there isn't even enough for a 1/16\".\n\nSecond is these are made of MDF or some other engineered wood. However the screws that hold the hanger in are the smallest, finest toothed screws I have ever seen. MDF and Fine toothed screws don't match. They pull out with little to no effort, including just falling off your wall as you put a few books in place.\n\nI would not recommend purchasing these pieces of garbage, but if you do, be prepared to fix the hole in the wall. You know the one that you punched through dealing with the frustration of these.

It is an inexpensive shelf. It's particle board. The style is nice and looks nice in my daughters room. But be careful setting the shelf anywhere because it easily dents.

The only reason they ended up installed at my house is I was scared of my 8 month pregnant wife and her desire to have the baby's room ready.\n\nLets start off with the metal hanger on the back. They are not evenly spaced from each of the edges, so when you measure to one and go to hang it up, it wont work. Speaking of which the design of the hanger requires the screw to be so precisely placed, there isn't even enough for a 1/16\".\n\nSecond is these are made of MDF or some other engineered wood. However the screws that hold the hanger in are the smallest, finest toothed screws I have ever seen. MDF and Fine toothed screws don't match. They pull out with little to no effort, including just falling off your wall as you put a few books in place.\n\nI would not recommend purchasing these pieces of garbage, but if you do, be prepared to fix the hole in the wall.
