At least for my uses, the different shelf/pocket sizes are very utilitarian, and I'm able to fit a variety of desk supplies and little decorations in/on it. It's worth noting that the surfaces are not perfectly square, as some of the welds are just a bit off. That may irritate some people, but it still sits flat, so I'm happy with it!
