Sponge is no good

I have used the heavy-duty sponge/scrubber for years but the last two times I’ve purchased the product I was very dissatisfied. I thought I probably got a bad batch the first time because the sponge actually started falling apart after the first use. Second time months later, same thing. I’m convinced the product has been “dumbed down” (for lack of a better word) to maintain a price point. I won’t be buying this product ever again.

Something has changed for worse

I have been using these for YEARS to do dishes and loved them. The last few packs I’ve bought have been horrible quality, within a few days the sponge side crumbles with bits falling off. I thought maybe I had a bad pack but any new ones I buy do the same thing. Now I’m on the hunt for a new product because I can’t keep buying these with this issue.

Faulty product

I have bought this product for over 20 years but just recently this product doesn’t last anymore as they have changed the sponge which crumbles in one use. You can use a brand new sponge and rinse it underwater and then just squeeze it out and the sponge is already breaking up before you even use it. I will not be buying this product anymore 😡😡😡😡

New batch poor quality and thicker than previous

Seems that 3M wanted to save money so they reduce the quality, reduce the thickness and sell at the same price. Have been bought these for 10 years and see a huge difference with the new batch that doesn't last couple of days compare to the previous version. Hundred and hundred of negative comments on the website and still no change, that's horrible, please correct that asap

What's the yellow colorant?

These 'sponges' are YELLOW and bleed a yellow water upon initial use which does stop with eventual use. 3M's web site published 'Article Information Sheet, 3MTM, Scotch-BriteTM, & O-CELOTM Cellulose Scrub Sponges, 03/24/17' does not explain the yellow colorant. I called 3M's '800' number and got a quick responce that the yellow colorant is 'Magnesium Chloride'. Wikipedia says Magnesium Chloride (which is inocous enough) is 'colorless or white' - so that doesn't explain the yellow color. I'm organic so what am I putting all over my dishes? I can't continue using this product for lack of confidence.

Don't Waste Your Money!

I have used the Scotch Brite heavy duty scrub sponge pad for a lifetime. They were great - that is the rectangular old style. I thought it was just me, but after reading many reviews I too will be looking for a scrubbing sponge that will hold up and not fuzz up. I have continued to buy many 21-piece packs from Sam's hoping that I got an inferior batch. Nope, bring back the original.

Used to be a great product.

Used to love this product. It was one of the very few "name brand" items that I would buy instead of the cheaper generic versions. The generic ones were "yucky" very quickly, and your product kept the quality much longer. Now it has changed, and is not better quality than the generic versions. I am so disappointed. Like many others, at first I though it was just a "bad batch". Convinced now that you changed the way they are made. Too bad!

Great disappointment

For years I have been buying this product. Now the scrubbing is made of 100% recycled materials. It doesn't work like the previous one. It begins to disintegrate rather quickly. I want to buy the previous version and I don't know where to find it.

New sponge

I have been buying this sponge for decades. The sponge with the new "wave" shape is inconvenient to use. It is horrible. This may have nothing to do with it but I am left handed and find it uncomfortable to hold and use. Please offer the rectangular shape and go to the original sponge from the past. And package/wrapped individually in a 12-24 sponge package or something close. I do not prefer that they dry out while waiting for weeks to be used.

Quality has been degraded

As I read in other reviews, this product has declined in quality and durability in the past year or so. The scrubbing edge gets a white/stringy look to it very quickly. Additionally, the sponge area also falls apart much quicker than the previous models. It is a shame because they used to be so versatile. I will be exploring an alternative once I exhaust this batch I purchased at a membership club.
