I got this for a duet bird feeder that has a squirrel-proof cage, so it works. The height is good; however, the distance of the hook from the deck could be longer. Also, the screw that holds it to the deck railing needs to be longer. I had to insert a piece of wood between the deck rail and screw end, so it would hold.
