Fall Frenzy
Layering Autumn, Halloween & Thanksgiving Décor
‘Tis the season for decorating! Fall is a favorite of interior designers – there are so many reasons to redecorate your home. But between the season itself and two major holidays, all that décor can be a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’re sharing smart ways to layer fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving pieces that make switching up these autumnal styles easy.
Fall to Halloween
First things first, you need a fall foundation. August and September are the perfect months to start integrating autumn in your décor. Bring in deep orange and green throw pillows for an easy and cozy way to get the season going. Don’t forget a few pumpkin and leaf accents to finish off the look!
As October nears, it’s time for a spooky makeover. Keep your deep fall colors around and swap a throw pillow or two for a fun skeleton or witch print pillow. Switch out those pumpkins and leafs for fun jack-o-lanterns to easily transition to Halloween. Finally, a few whimsical details like witch figurines and bubbling cauldrons will complete this holiday décor.
Halloween to Thanksgiving
Once the fears and frights are over, it’s time to get ready for feasting! Swap out spooky skeletons for adorable owl and turkey accents, and opt for pumpkins over jack-o-lanterns once again. Throw pillows with messages of thanks replace your creepier cushions to create a cozy vibe for the upcoming Thanksgiving celebration. Finally, a seasonal wreath on your front door is a great last touch to this holiday transition.
Fall to Thanksgiving
If you decided to skip out on the spooks, it’s also easy to transition from early fall straight to Turkey Day décor. Keep your wood touches and orange accents around, but add in a few more pumpkins and fall leaves. Rich reds and deep yellows are a great addition to your early fall color scheme to get ready for the big day. Also be sure to add some turkey accents to really get in the Thanksgiving spirit.
