Had a Dollar Store Toaster that Worked Better
Worst toaster I've ever owned and yet most expensive as far as simple toaster goes. No rhyme or reason to the numbered settings. If it's not quite toasted enough, I put down to lowest setting and push down, and unless I stand there, my toast or bagel will burn. Only reason to buy is it looks nice if you want to keep on counter. I do not keep out, so I'd rather have any one that actually works.

Some design flaws
I wanted an inexpensive, basic toaster and this one was really cute! A little bit of a retro style and matches the other appliances. But the numbers began to fade after a little while. We had a problem with the pop-up mechanism not working, but it somehow corrected itself. It was kind of slow to toast. What bothered me most was that the cord was on the side, but at the front! Awkward and ugly. I kept it for a few years and threw it away after a Pop Tart broke inside and I didn't like the toaster enough to clean it out.

Poor quality
Bought two months ago and very disappointed. Took forever to heat up, did not uniformly toast and the bagel function never worked. After 2 months it just stopped heating - lights came on but didn't heat up.
